Greetings, friends in curiosity! With the large influx of newcomers lately, a few of us feel now is the perfect time to reveal a rather large pet project that we have been working on for some time now. To that end, we are pleased to reveal our "Beginner's Guide to Curios & Conundrums," just recently completed and uploaded only today to the wiki. It can be found at the following link: curios-and-conundrums.wikia.com/wiki/The_C%26C_Primer:_A_Guide_for_Newcomers
We understand that jumping headlong into the middle of this adventure can be quite daunting, and we hope that this guide helps in putting new members at ease and dispelling some of their confusion.
Yours in puzzlement,
Eleanor, aka "The Bardess"

This is simply great! I must thank you, Eleanor and Chelsea, for creating this. Once I try to create my own theory I will refer to this ( I won't want to cloud my thoughts by reading this before the actual catch ups).
Thanks again,

Bardess and Chelsea, good grief that must've been a lot of work/fun! Thanks for that, I never would have checked the source code for a hidden message but, of course, I'll be doing that all the time now. A toast to you!

Just received the first pack of journals in the mail and honestly I have no clue what to do about them except reading it through, so some initial help is certainly more than welcome ! Going through your link now and back to the study bench

Well now I can honestly say I am on the fence...Catch up the riddle way, or through the guide...

Seriously, don't use the guide on your first time through. Consult it if you're absolutely stuck, or if you think you are caught up and want to be sure you're not missing anything.
It is a wonderful reference, but the joy in in the playing of the game.

Once I was as far as I could get I checked the site to confirm what I had and what I could not get, which was a couple of crossword answers that we not important but I felt stupid for missing, and things that I would have needed the curios for. But solving the riddles were a lot of fun and give you a good feel for how you will do on the future issues. Think of it as building up your base skills, with the oppertunity to check your work.

I would concur with our esteemed Todd and Kazi; the pleasure is in the playing of the game and not in simply being handed the answers. Sharpening the brain via the solving of conundrums will prove to be of immense value when one finds oneself without resources save one's own cunning, not to mention being able to fully enjoy the pleasure of the "eureka" moment when the solution finally becomes clear.
Nevertheless, I find the paper to be of good value. It is indeed a convenience to have the capacity to check one's work and to have a handy, but short, summary of the story thus far that one can refer back to as things progress.

Considering that when I try to sharpen my brain like a pencil the lead inevitably breaks off, without the most wonderful guide I would have no chance to understand and enjoy these mysteries. I hope it is updated in the future,

This is a wonderful resource. Great job. I've been wishing there was some reference that would let me check to see if I missed anything and if the ideas I had were correct or far out in left field. This is perfect. Now that I've worked through the first two catch up packages and checked my work against this, I'm feeling a lot more confident about my first "real" issue of the C&C showing up. Thanks again.

The Templar Bard et al,
The chat room is a great, spoiler free way to talk with people about the puzzles and theories. The reason many of us there encourage newcomers to discuss their theories is because a fresh perspective often reveals hidden details.

Capital work Bardess! An excellent resource. I do however want to echo Todd. If you do get stumped, try and turn to the sitting room or the chat room. Discovering what secrets lie within with the help of such a wonderful group of people was half of the fun. I'd suggest turning to the guide as a way to check your work once you have formulated your own theories. Again, amazing work Bardess!

For all those who do not wish their experience to be thoroughly spoiled by an encounter with the answer-heavy guide, I have just posted a gentler, heavily redacted version on the same page as above.

As someone who has come in rather late to the party (I like to make an entrance) I ponder if I should abstain from this tail and await for next year's quarterly to become available. Despite the catch up editions being available, I feel without the curious trinkets included I would be missing some of the story's nuance and flavor.
Opinions?

The artifacts are not needed to partake in the story, they are more of a bonus for subscribers. Also there is a continuous story contained within all the issues so far, by waiting until next year I fear you would only fall that much farther behind!

Mr. The Beard,
I aspire to give you my sincere gratitude in responding to my query. I have taken your prompt advice to heart and have subscribed myself to our organization's quarterly periodical; the anticipation of receiving such an esteemed gazette fills me to my fingers as I walk into this rather undiscovered world.

Having lived in the twilight area of having only the catch-ups for volume 1 and the first two issues of volume 2, it was more than interesting to receive volume 2, issue 3 yesterday, with its accompanying artifacts intact. Definitely a most pleasurable and rewarding experience, since it ties into the tactile sense that the Mysterious Package Company states as one of their goals, and which is the essence of the "experiences" they offer.
