The thing that's currently holding me up is trying to figure out what the last letter of '1984' is.

Here is the gibberish typed out if that makes it easier for you to work with! Thank you, this is great and helps a lot, however now of course I'm having trouble solving the new atmosfear picture as beyond the obvious ones it seems to need a leap of faith to fill in Cheers! I agree, I did the obvious ones and then copied that so I have several working copies, I am about 75% done and on my 4th copy..

The thing that's currently holding me up is trying to figure out what the last letter of '1984' is. I had the same issue. Reread the instructions. There's a confusing bit regarding the words "within" and "piece". Think about what else it might be referring to.

Ok... for the anagram I have tried the last letter of each code word the last letter of each puzzle title several variations on the last letter in each puzzle (instructions only, puzzle only, some filled in words) I'm sure that there's another option because none of these seem to make any sense but it seems like there could be nearly endless possibilities when looking for the "last letter"

Pay close attention to the wording of the instructions.

Thank you, we eventually got there with some help with a handy online wossname and picked up the next bit but of course that just gives us issues on perhaps we're being too literal on taking the last letter of each of the ten padlocks we've opened so far (using R for 1984) which seems to lead nowhere....
The hunt continues!

The hunt continues! On the contrary, you're not being literal enough. Review the exact wording of the instructions.

The hunt continues! On the contrary, you're not being literal enough. Review the exact wording of the instructions. Is this too literal: "GEMINI" appears in the newspaper "The Child Of The Cavern" on the last page and the "piece" aka the "article" including it, ends with a "z". Or is the "piece" the specific article about "GEMINI", and therefore ends with an "n"?
or am I completely on the wrong track?

That's the right idea. And as I recall it, it's the former, not the latter.
