This is the one puzzle in this issue I haven't seen any conversation regarding, or reference to in conjunction with any other puzzle. Any thoughts to its importance?

Instructions for how to use the Spine Numbers are hidden in plain sight. Look for something that is usually in order, but isn't. Can't find it? Search for it. When you've found it, you'll see how it all begins.

This is fully solved. If your search has revealed what is usually in order but is not in order, it specifically tells you what to do with the spine numbers. Let me know if you're still having trouble, or feel free to send me a Private Message if you want to talk about specific details.

So I've done what I need to do with the spine numbers and have a specific message, but I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm hoping it gives me the password to a certain place within a place that does not exist, as I've yet to locate that bit of info. Any help?

You will have things that you hold on to for a few issues.

Ok, thanks. I'm picking my way through slowly, as the earlier volumes kind of get overwhelming for me when approached all at once - at least that was true for Volume 1 for me. So it's safe to assume that I need to progress into issues 3 and/or 4 before I can find the password?

Hmm - the Issue 1 X-Grid gave me the username, and it seems pretty clear to me where to use it based on the info I got from solving the Issue 2 crossword, involving a certain father figure's name combined with a place does not exist. Would you give me a nudge on where I might find the password?

I apologize. Chronology is a bit out of whack for me, as the site itself was not up until several months after the publication of the issue. And even then, when it was available, it didn't work for another month or so. In real time, this became useful right before Volume 2 Issue 4 shipped. Peruse the issue again. Don't dash toward dotting your Is. What you seek is hiding in plain sight.

I'm in the same boat.

I'm in the same boat. Presumably in an effort to equalize opportunity, the Vaults for Volumes 1&2 didn't go live until about the time the first issue of the subsequent volume shipped. That message was informing subscribers that the Volume 1 Vault was now active, and how to find it.

That message was a loose end for me, but I assumed that it was a hint to the vault location .
