An oddity observed - According to his card, Patrick Morensen was inducted in April 1931, If we assume he was about 20 years old at that time, he would have been about 58 at the time of his death in 1969. However his obituary says he was a first year university student.

SOME NOTES AND OBSERVATIONS
Key Facts
Andrew McKabe | Stephen Ellis | Patrick Morenson | - no date [? see pic] - youngest member to be admitted to the "Lodge" - no close relatives - died in "the prime of his life" - ceremony to be held at "the lodge on July 18th" - statue: whoever left it invited to give a eulogy | - July 16, 1969 - park ranger at Petroglyphs Provincial Park for 10 years - "too young to be taken" - ceremony to be held at the park on "July 18th, 1999" - statue: requests for it to be moved to visitor's center | - July 16, 1969 - Chief Scout recipient & volunteer at women's shelter - first year at University of Toronto - was "solo camping" - "funeral and cremation to be held on the 18th of July" - statue: family wants to meet whoever left it |
Names in Obituaries vs Names on Membership Cards
Patrick Morenson (obit) = Patrick Morenson (card) Andrew McKabe (obit) ? Horace Mccabe (card) Stephen Ellis (obit) ? Anthony Dubois (card) Other Observations
Andrew McKabe's obituary - the only one that isn't dated (could be cut-off in pic, will ask for clarification) Stephen Ellis' obituary: - ceremony on "July 18th, 1999" & is the only one that has a year - asks to have the statue removed and his is the only name without any kind of similarity to one of the names on the membership cards.

However his obituary says he was a first year university student. My thinking is that the men cited in the obituaries are the children of the men to whom the membership cards belong. If I remember correctly, we know that membership is passed down through the family right? So this might explain why some names are different, though I'm not sure why the last names "McKabe" and "Mccabe" would have such a minor difference, or if they are just unrelated. Or perhaps members are inducted at birth, since as I mentioned before, membership is passed down to children?

So new member here. Just recently got my catch-up omnibus. Re: Steven Ellis obituary I do not have a copy of the actual curio. I am going off the pictures posted on this site. --The obituary for Steven Ellis has a date of 1969 at the top left hand corner of the newspaper page? Yes? --But the date of the ceremony is July 18, 1999? So an obituary was placed in a 1969 newspaper for a man who would die in 1999?? Do I have this right? --and the obit says he was a park ranger for 10 years, so he began his job in 1989?, 20 years after the newspaper was printed?? Thanks in advance for any responses.

You have a good eye. Your observances are one possibility. Others include a typo, or a service being held 30 years after his death.
