I just received a package of all C & C from Vol 1 and 2. Is this normal??? Should I expect anything else to come in the mail?

New member here and excited to dive into the Curios Vol 1+2 omnibus this weekend - I'm experienced in puzzles and cyphers and have a general question:
I'm wondering if I should read the entirety of Vol 1 before attempting to solve the greater picture or if I should be completing the crosswords and taking notes on the Volume as a whole while reading through.
I love the idea of inconsequential (yet fun) articles and stories...but I'm unsure what I should 'do' with any answers I received from the Prologue...
Thoughts/Advice/Comments?

As a general rule for the first two volumes, start at the beginning. Work puzzles you find. Follow where they lead. If you can't see where to go, just press forward- you might not have information you need yet.
Read through this thread. Be aware that volume- and issue-specific threads will have spoilers. We've worked hard at keeping them out, but you never know. Feel free to message any moderator, admin, or exemplar with questions- or anyone here, really, if you think they'll know. We're pretty helpful. There's also the IRC chat room (server: irc.chat-solutions.org, room: #mpc) where Todd and I and others wait with bated breath to help you with your puzzles.
Welcome to the Game.

Is the C&C one continuous story? I'm starting with volume 4 whenever it arrives. Should I order volume 1-3 or it doesn't matter and I can start with volume 4?

Hi all, I'm looking for the neat code that people are using to hide spoilers. I don't find it anywhere. thanks picante It is the last icon in the row. The smiley face with the finger over the mouth.

Unfortunately, we do not know what Volume 4 will bring. They are billing them as stand-alone boxes, so it's probably a safe bet that you won't NEED to have worked the previous volumes. However, there may still be a story that continues. We won't know until it begins. And possibly not even then.

There has been a continuous story line in the background which has been great. We don't know if it will continue in Vol. 4 or not, but I certainly hope so. While I don't think you need the previous volumes in order to start with Vol 4...it is a highly enjoyable story to get involved in. I myself ordered all the back Volumes and did Vol 1 and then skipped Vol 2 and did all of Vol 3 and then went back and did Vol 2. So I got the back story in bits and pieces...it did not detract from the experience at all and I could still solve all the puzzles. They sell Vol 1 and 2 together because you do need Vol 1 in order to complete Vol 2.

I've been working my way through the C&C 1 and 2 on my own and have been pulling my hair out! I'm so glad I found this place, once I get oriented I'm going to have some fun getting on track with some of these. Some seem very straightforward, but others seem to be pretty esoteric.
