I've noticed a couple of references now in these threads to someone or something called "Cedarian." In the thread about the Snapchat article, Cedarian was mentioned as an account that people had added as a friend, although no reason was given as to why. Also, in the "Mega Story" thread, someone mentioned that "Cedarian" may have the stone. Perhaps I am totally dense and have completely missed something shockingly obvious, but who or what is this Cedarian? I see no mention of him/her/it anywhere in the current issue, and I have no idea where this character suddenly came from and what people are talking about. Anybody care to enlighten me?

I don't remember where they got the name Cedarian to begin with.
Some mental gymnastics come next.
I was saying the C with the kind of C that is in Cinnamon, not Carrot. If you use the C like Carrot, think back to the C/K replacement in AM's last name.
So, let us say it sounds like Kedarian with a K. The suffix -ian is equivalent to -ite. Think of how Muslims used to be called Mohammadeans. Anyway, so we get Kedarite.
An alternate spelling of Kedarite is Qedarite, which is mentioned in the Bible. The latinized spelling would begin with a C.
So who were the Cedarites? A nomadic tribe or collection of tribes that were influential in 8th-4th Century. What that means? I got nothing.
However, according to the Wiki on Qedarites: The Arabic triliteral root q-d-r means "to measure, compute, estimate"; "to decree, appoint, ordain"; and "to have power, or ability."
So remember what was said above regarding the Perplexle solution with regard to "power."
Granted, this is totally off the cuff, and taking massive leaps in logic. It could all be a huge raft of bullshine from a mind who loves a good conspiracy. Especially if there isn't one but damn it all if it doesn't fit just enough to hang out at the back of your brain and annoy you.

My assumption has been that Cedarian is something uncovered in Volumes 1 and 2.

My assumption has been that Cedarian is something uncovered in Volumes 1 and 2. It is not a Volume 1 or 2 thing. The first time I saw the name was as a Snapchat user name, and I thought it was an autocorrect of Curator. But since then it has been repeated several times.

The first ever mention of Cedarian was in the thread here about the Snapchat article. Dr. Rook posted that he had downloaded SnapChat and added as friends both Andrew McCabe, and Cedarian, as if Cedarian was somehow a logical name to add. Several other posters said that they had done the same. Then, in the "Mega Story" thread, someone posted that they suspected that Cedarian had the Philosopher's Stone. However, nobody has said where this name Cedarian has come from in the first place. It is not anything from either Volume 1 or Volume 2. As far as I can tell, it isn't in Volume 3, either, so I'm really curious as to where it came from and why people are suddenly incorporating it into their puzzling.

You guys are killing me. If no one knows where Cedarian came from, why would you use this name as a reference for anything? The two people who were supposed to be added on Snapchat were Andrew McCabe and CURATOR.

The two people who were supposed to be added on Snapchat were Andrew McCabe and CURATOR. I have no idea. Again, it was Dr. Rook who first mentioned Cedarian, although when asked about it, he never clarified, and I don't know where he got the name. Someone else then mentioned that they believed Cedarian had the stone, but again, I have no idea where it came from or why this person thinks that, and again, no clarification has been forthcoming in that thread. My personal belief is that the SnapChat article was just there for fun, and we aren't supposed to do anything with it, but I seem to be in the minority in that respect.

You know, this board has a search function. It's easy to pull up all the posts that use the name Cedarian.
But count me among those who do not believe it, nor Snapchat, are relevant.

I posted about cedarian and the sorcers stone. I tagged along with dr rook believing (apparently mistakenly) that cedarian was the name of the curator revealed in the first two volumes.
Sorry!

To avoid further confusion as to whether things referred to the first two volumes, may I remind everyone that volume 3 is a fresh start.

Okay, this is getting weirder and weirder. There is no mention of "Cedarian" (at least that I can find) anywhere in the SR. And Dr. Rook says he got the name from this board, but chronologically speaking, the first mention of Cedarian on this forum is in Dr. Rook's post where he mentions adding someone by that name on Snapchat.
Hang it all, where are Mulder and Scully when we need them?

Don't forget that, unlike the SR, people here can edit and delete their posts at will. It's possible that Dr. Rook saw it here first, but that first post has either been edited or deleted.
Blockquotes, folks!!!
