In the Curator's most recent message (April 12 "Wherein a safe transition is described"), the Curator mentioned a pair of 16th Century alchemists, Valentine and Ripley. Some quick research turned up that Basil Valentine's most famous work is "The Twelve Keys of Basil Valentine" and Sir George Ripley wrote a poem about alchemy called "The Twelve Gates". Could this be a clue to how many passwords we will need for this edition's vault? While looking these two up, I also found an essay that related these two works to a series of engravings called the Mylius Engravings and says that they contain "22 combinations of 7 interlinked symbols". I found this interesting because many people have pointed out that the symbols on the map appear to be made up of interlinked symbols (e.g. a circle with a dot, a square with a crooked line, etc). Not sure if this will lead anywhere...

As for the interlocking symbols, that is indeed suggestive, given the map. I wonder if I take out size and orientation from the mix of symbols I've come up with of it would reduce to seven.

It is quite obvious the Curator does, at the least, peruse this forum. I do not believe I have ever seen the Curator post, unless done so under a pseudonym!

I was lucky enough to find someone who reads about this. on pinterest. Size and orientation matters, since the symbols are already interlinked. Some of them. Think of the symbol from Harry Potter

I think the cube art represents one of the inventions in the patient puzzle.

I think I'm looking at this from a different point of view. I took art in college. I'm learning about, number codes. If something sounds wrong, let me know. I was thinking about the Curator being here as well!

Does CJ Falk mean anything? I know I saw the name somewhere in my research, because it was a letter or two off from Falksen... It is what I got after translating the vegetable to Braille.

Whatever else it may be, the cube part of the cube art is a pretty faithful illustration of the sculpture in the story.

Me too I am confused. Why Braille? Where was the hint that led to it? Or did you just try out random things...

There was a plaque by a door, and I wondered what the braille alphabet looked like. The pips we're plotted out in grids that look like sections of the telephone wires in kick. There are also hidden letters in some of the pictures: a C and a J in a girl's hair. A B in the falls, and a p in a tattoo.

I found This works with the other symbols as well. I was wondering what everyone thought.
