Hi all.
I'm new here - this seems to be one of the few place I've found on the internet discussing this amazing Post Mortem LA series.
I come from a background of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, and it was such a surprise to discover this game series which seems directly related to it, from a company that looks like they normally do more experience and less narrative things.
We just finished a 14 hour live playthrough and review on youtube of the first game in the series (Lights... Camera... Murder!), you can watch it here (full spoilers of course watch only after you finish playing):
We'll be playing the rest of the cases soon.
If you guys are looking for another VERY similar, but more epic and marathon film noir experience, check out "Gumshoe":
boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3365/gumshoeIt's from 1986 and is out of print but can be found on ebay occasionally for about $100. It has maybe 5x the content of one of the Post Mortem games, and requires a heavy commitment of time and mental energy since it spans 10 game days.
We would love to learn more about the history and creation of the Post Mortem LA series -- it's strange that there is no author credited since the writing was so amazing.
If anyone knows anything about the history of this series I'd love to hear it!
