So, now that the kickstarter is live, I have a couple of questions.
As I understand it, the membership kit would only be available once a stretch goal is reached. I assume that would mean that it would be offered for an additional price at that time. Is this correct?
Also, if the membership kit stretch goal was reached, would it include the membership card? Seems like I would not need to pay for the add-on for the card if the stretch goal for the membership kit was reached. Is this correct?
Just a couple of questions before I become a backer.

Wow, is Natalia Zina Walschots writing these stories? I loved Hench! If those one-of-a-kind book were just a few thousand less ...

That's correct- the membership kit will become an add-on item with an additional cost. It will include both the card and the bookplate set that are currently available separately - I'd suggest backing for the currently-available items that catch your fancy, as it's very easy to adjust your pledge to remove and add things later!

For anyone who's on the fence about backing the Kickstarter, we've currently got a flash sale on that brings back the earlybird pricing for a limited time! Have a look, and tell everyone you know - we can pay for marketing all we like, but it doesn't hold a candle to the word of a trusted friend.

Why is this not funded yet? Is it because people with existing subscriptions aren't backing it because they'll hopefully get it anyway as part of their subscription at some point?

It's just not getting good visibility. This type of project usually funds rapidly and exceeds goals, but I've seen zero promotion. I think "mixed media" instead of publishing was also a misstep because it's so much lower-interest of a category. You can see the major differences in funding for top projects between the two categories: www.kickstarter.com/discover/advanced?category_id=18&sort=magic&seed=2730922&page=1It really needs to be a "featured" campaign / "project we love" but clearly isn't quite there yet in terms of the quality of the campaign setup.

It’s bizarre- I’ve spent a pile of money on social media marketing, consulted with friends who work in marketing (who can’t find the problem), hustled on every channel I can think of… the only thing I can’t do is spend the 10-50% of our ask on marketing that’s often spent by larger companies, and that’s simply a problem of cashflow that i had hoped to overcome with momentum.
I also built the current campaign to check every box of a “project we love”, but… no dice. I see your point on the category- I considered others, but ultimately went with “mixed media” because a) it’s the best fit and b) it’s where other similar projects have succeeded.
TLDR: I’m stumped too, but I’m not out of ideas or steam yet.

That's typically a way to build 'buzz' and what people tend to look for on kickstarters these days.

This has been tricky- we’re not “game” enough for a puzzle/game review to serve us well. We did get a review series from No Proscenium, and I’m hoping to see the second instalment of that series soon. We’ve also done a lot of work to try to get influencers on board, but that’s underperformed for a few annoying reasons.

It sure is! Thanks to everyone who's supported it with signal-boosting, backing, and some extremely valuable feedback. We're so, so excited to show you what's next!

Glad to hear it! Shared on as many relevant facebook groups as I could and saw at least a few people jumped in and backed it.

Has anyone heard anything lately? The last update I saw was in mid-March. No, nothing. If there isn't an update by mid-July, I'm going to request a refund.
