[EDITED AGAIN] I spoke too soon... "ALERT: Your item was forwarded to a different address at 8:31 am on April 20, 2021 in BOSTON, MA. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect." Am I just cursed?

I just listened to the third bit of online content after the second mailing, McMann and the Mystery Woman.
It's fascinating to me how what seem to be, at first glance, parallel lines start to converge, then blur, and then disappear altogether before again seeming parallel.
This is an engrossing piece of storytelling. Mixed media as an art form.

I wonder if in the future they'll ship physical journals or stacks of letters rather then relegating them to digital. I definitely enjoyed when MPC sent more complete narrative documents like The Weeping Book or Buried Puppet Journal.

I really enjoyed the Mitchell Boys recording (my favorite content so far) and as Todd said, the blending of the different narratives is unique and fascinating. I've found myself not really caring about the puzzle elements of this so much as just letting the narrative happen and being surprised by what comes next.
Fun trivia from doing some research? There are a fair number of notable people who were born in Mitchell South Dakota, including Gary Owens of Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Laugh-In fame, and he got his start as a DJ at the town's radio station named, of course, KORN.

I am definitely enjoying this experience as well! One thing I have appreciated with each is the quality in all the documents - I think my friend and I spend five minutes just loving the poster and it's etching feel. Each paper is printed in a different style and doesn't look like it's been copied which really allows you to immersive yourself in the story. I admit the Mitchell diary really got me towards the end. I've been looking at the online components as a way to learn about the author while the physical elements from the mail as learning about the character. Both are quite distinct but they are travelling the same path. There are some things I'm curious to unpack - like the song about adam, eve, and cain on the back of the contract (I'm sensing it was how she felt about the contract if you compare it to the song on the menu). I keep thinking the music notes will be something but I might just be looking for mysteries where they aren't any...yet

I enjoy the online content because it's a little different and allows for a few new formats that I haven't had before in these types of experiences. On the other hand, online items haven't been immortal for any other experiences and I am saddened by some of the story components lost from things because the websites/apps died (Curios & Conundrums and the Ghost Post App for example. I imagine Super Star Cadets will fall to that fate eventually.). Luckily we have some archivists in our midsts, but it would be nice to not have to depend on that. Also - I'm in the delayed shipping boat. It arrived at my nearest hub on Saturday but no delivery yet. Hopefully soon!

My package was late, and then life happened and I'm just getting to this.
So Alice in the first "Mitchell Boys" online content congratulates us for good work on figuring out the destination on our maps from last time.
Questions: 1. In looking at these boards, all I saw was everyone saying, "Don't see any puzzles, but I'm enjoying the story!" So apparently there was a puzzle in the map that... no one here did? Everything in the last mailing talked about Canadian places or fictional places except for the Corn Palace. That's where the winged one went, so I guess that was the answer? If so, it wasn't much of a puzzle, or am I missing something? 2. Is there someplace we should be communicating with Alice? How did she know whether we found the destination or not? Should I be sending her emails?

deanodon you are meant to find locations in each mailing to plot of the map that will help the librarians locate the next chapter. So it’s not a puzzle per se but there were clues to help you find the location in the first mailing and then you need to find the next one in this mailing.

Okay.
Fun facts about cicadas:
Socrates' Myth of the Cicadas is presented. ... Cicadas were once humans who, in ancient times, allowed the first Muses to enchant them into singing and dancing for so long they stopped eating and sleeping and died without noticing.
Has everyone made their bracelets?

Got the braiding all done. Just need to tie it all together now. 2 of my kernels fell off in the white thread braiding so I need to fix that too.

Any ideas where she's going next? I looked at circus routes, and found this cool librarian who tries to map the routes of various circuses from back then: erinemccabe.com/portfolio/circus-routes/None of them even go through South Dakota. And here's a list of circuses and their routes. Unfortunately neither the Great Cicada Circus nor the Liberty Bros Circus are listed: classic.circushistory.org/Routes/Route.htmIn fact, looking through that last link for any circus operating in 1935, it doesn't look like any of them were operating in either North or South Dakota then. Which makes sense, because a circus needs to perform to make money, so you stick to well populated areas where you can move a few towns over every few days and perform again. Large swaths of unpopulated land do nothing for circuses, and just add travel time and expense. None of this is central to the story told, just interesting.

I keep getting emails with fun and enticing titles only to find its encouraging me to sign up for this very experience. Not counting the emails of new content available, of course. Anyone getting anything different from the emails?
