I am looking for recommendations for escape room in a box games that i can buy (Amazon, Target, Any online store)
There are so many boxes and I trust this community over the general ratings from store customers.
Also ,,, If you feel these boxes are not worth looking into I would appreciate the advice.
Covid is keeping so many of us at home I am looking for gifts to give that can also give my friends reason to reach out with a call or text if they need help on a puzzle. An easy excuse to call a friend. we can work our boxes separately, together.

You could pick up a copy of Box One from Target, it's a great value for the money and is more of an introductory-level difficulty, as it is geared towards the general public. Beyond that, I had great fun with "Escape Room in a Box: The Werewolf Experiment", which was, to my knowledge, the first such box to hit the market. You could look for one of the originals, which would be a little more expensive, or pick up the Mattel version for about $30.
More generally, as you've already found, there are multiple lines of boxes, such as Escape the Room, Decktective, Unlock, etc. These range in quality and price, but are usually still quite affordable.
Past that point, you get into the more hardcore (and expensive) puzzling, as provided by monthly subscription boxes such as Hunt a Killer, Curious Correspondence Club, etc. These almost always feature an ongoing storyline, and get expensive quickly, so they may not be what exactly what you're looking for.
Hope that helps!

I am already getting curious correspondence club. I think I will also try some "exit the game" boxes I can get those on Amazon, unless someone talks me out of them.
Your advice is greatly appreciated. I am so enjoying this new (to me) puzzling adventure!
