It appears that most (if not all) puzzles in this issue contain puzzles within them. Solve the puzzle on the surface first, then look deeper. Questions on either level should be discussed here.

This one didn't take long to solve on the surface, but I haven't found a deeper meaning yet.

The girl in the picture looks familiar - as if her eyes might be seen in another picture on the page.
Same with the man. That feral look on his face...
But I could be reaching a bit too far.

A quick observation that this modest tipple of a puzzle seems to be related to at least two other items:
the Horoscopes, and the Fabulous Deaths
in the latter of which prominent attention is paid to
Sherwood Anderson, whose most famous work, curiously unmentioned in the article, was Winesburg, Ohio.

Well, I'm stumped on such a simple puzzle. Having solved all of the smaller words and then unscrambling the circled letters, I fail to see how Corgi Anus helps with anything. I mean, really. This isn't anything I want to dig deeper into. I'm writing a letter to the editor. (Not really, but it was amusing me far too much to keep to myself)

Perhaps someday even I gun Orcas There has to be a line drawn here! ;-)

Im new and so far have only gone through the first volume with this one. In those volumes though there are so many ciphers! Do you think any of these "c" words could be cipher keys (for what the councilman says for instance) ?
