I'm a but lost. Just slow I guess. I see the path created by the small symbols But then I'm not sure what to do. I am told there are 8,058 possible anagrams above the line But my favorite is Depart Florin. Perhaps we should look to The Princess Bride for help on the map?

I looked into another possibility. Anyone in Portland know if any incidents in its past that could relate to monsters?

Have you found a message on this puzzle other than the anagrams?

I enjoy the fascinating trivia research turns up: Saint Florin is often depicted with a glass of wine and his miracles consisted of turning water into wine....seems like a guy you'd want to go carousing with lol

Have you found a message on this puzzle other than the anagrams? Only the message obtained using the Patently Ridiculous key. When I look at the entire puzzle page, I feel like every puzzle with the exception of Perplexle has an obvious first-level/surface solution. Unjumble the jumble. Solve the crossword puzzle. Find the hidden words. Match the pictures to the right patent. Figure out what the letters stand for. Maybe there's only one 29-point solution to the Perplexle and we're supposed to find the words that produce 29 points?

There are two levels to the Perplexle, The Patently Ridiculous key and The maze. It really does seem to lack a superficial puzzle, but perhaps the fact that there are two hidden ones makes up for that?

I've been doing a little fiddling with the message. What if there are three parts to it: One from the Patently Ridiculous key, then two anagrams from the labyrinth -- inside the line and outside the line? As an example, it could be something along the lines of: you are poisoned, not powerful; e.w. soon upon you; depart florin I'm not putting that out there as a solution, just as an example of the thinking.

Good idea, and certainly possible.

I can see the path, but the print is very faint in spots...I must continue my investigation

I was an idiot who wrote ON the puzzle before examining it closely enough and now, even magnified, there are areas I've made illegible. I might have to watch this one from the sidelines.

I have been searching through this post and I may have missed it, people do refer to the "Maze" and I guess I can see where "Depart Florin" came from, but I don't know how you arrived there. Just an anagram of all the marked letters? Here's where I am lost... At the bottom left corner there is a small black arrow pointing inward in the opposite direction of the rest. On the right side there is a hollow arrow pointing outward about 3/4 of the way down. I thought that the combination of these things and the small little dots on some corners of the letters were a guide as to how to read the message from start to finish. but my copy is damaged with so much use and I am not sure theres anything there at all, and I can't find a path that makes sense using the little dots from one to the other. What his the significance of the arrows do you think?

for those with damaged copies it will be hard to see without a magnifier. There appeared to be a path in between letters with small blocks in place to guide you around from start - black triangle to finish - open triangle. The path divided the letters. Putting the two groups through word scramble Anagram solvers yielded several possibilities including depart florin on one side. It is a theory. It may not be the theory.
Jr. try to flesh out your thoughts on the letters and let us know if it yields something different. There may be something to it yet. Don't give up
