This one concerns me for two reasons. One is of course that they are a brand new company/team and are only enthusiasts and have never produced anything to scale. In a world where there are vastly more obstacles to overcome with manufacturing and shipping than usual, it’s hard for me to trust in their ability to handle making this.
Two is that despite the game being in English, English doesn’t seem to be their first language based on some of their write-ups and on some of the writing on the props. This is always a red flag for me when there are presumably going to be puzzles that rely on language.
I’m definitely going to skip the Kickstarter but might purchase it later depending on reviews.

I have decided to back it. I adore paper of all kinds. So a red envelope was practically designed to get my attention. I’ll let everyone know how it goes.

Here is some info from the faq page:
Scarlet Envelope games are created by the owners of the content creation agency Contenti based in Vaughan, Ontario. Contenti is a well-known local company experienced in web design, content production, photo/videography, and creative print. Despite the Scarlet Envelope games being our first project in the board game industry, we can assure you that we are prepared for any difficulties and obstacles a new business may face. Thanks to our in-house production capabilities and contacts in the print/creative industry, we feel comfortable entering this field and promising you the high-quality results.
We can also proudly say that our game was playtested by players of all levels including experienced board game players. Most recently we've been selected as one of the few sponsors of the big virtual show "A Night of Escape Mentalism & Magic" organized by the Esc Room Addict (Escape Room Reviews, News, and Consultation across North America).

If you held off on the Kickstarter and decide you want to join in at a later date, they now have a website up and running: www.scarletenvelope.ca/
