How do I make a spoiler ? It depends on how you are accessing the forum. In the Desktop interface, there is an icon of a yellow smiley face holding its finger to its lips. Clicking that icon will open the Spoiler dialog. Does that help?

So the actual envelope that held this months paper. USPS first class mail with the return address of Niagara Falls, NY 14305. Coincidence? Or no. Given all the Niagara Falls related stuff. I just randomly noticed it when I went to move it.

Mine had their usual address not Niagara. I was referring to the 'other' envelope. Beaing in mind mine was Canada Post to the UK. I believe they stated on the MPC website that they were now using US mail for mailing to the states.

My package (mailed to the U.S.) also had a Niagara Falls address on the UPS sticker. Maybe the Niagara theme in this issue is just their way of saying "look at how much we've grown, we had to get a mailing center in the U.S.!"

Perhaps someone could start a thread here in the Vol 3 subforum that clearly uses as its subject line: Vol 3 Issue 1 SPOILERS! Or PUZZLES! Or something that makes it clear what's inside so that folks can enter or avoid as needed. I haven't started yet but don't mind reading a few things like spoilers now and again. It just depends on how "stuck" I feel!

I think by the end of tomorrow most people will have theirs- then the sleuthing will begin in earnest.

Hello there everyone! I received the first issue of Volume 3 in Las Vegas yesterday. This is my first introduction to the MPC and I am delighted at how many different forums this community has. I have combed the the wiki page and am semi-caught up on the history of the previous two volumes, which leads me to my first question. I have read in several different places that this volume is supposed to "start anew" but I have seen several items in the newspaper that refer to terms from the first two volumes. Should I endeavor to become entirely familiar with the previous two volumes or is this truly a new journey? Perhaps I should I get used to being lied to by the MPC? For example, the newspaper says in the Letters to the Editor section that Andrew promises to "properly label all puzzles", but here I see that all of you are already solving puzzles all over the place! Thank you for reading the questions of a n00b

I'm not. I bought one catch up but when they said volume 3 would start anew I decided to just start with this one.

Esquire, So far, everything we are working on as a puzzle is marked with a symbol in front of its title. There is, of course, speculation about other items, but nothing suggests so far that they are puzzles. So yes, this does appear to be a fresh start so far, and yes, get used to being lied to by the MPC.

Vol 3 Issue 1 constitutes my first contact with the Mysterious Package Co. It was received Friday (March 4th) in the Pacific Northwest.
I have to admit, I wasn't really sure what to expect. There are some bad puns and some other things I find deeply amusing. I'm not really sure how far down the rabbit hole goes. I can see at least one overarching theme in the package that connects articles to puzzles and I've managed to find an interesting connection on the puzzle page. I feel like the top right of the back page is the nut I really want to crack, but I'm not entirely certain the best way to approach it. Also, at least one of the puzzles is completely opaque to me thus far.
Honestly, one of the most fun parts of the whole experience has just been handling a full-sized newspaper again. I don't think I've done that in years, but the muscle memory is still there and I have been flipping it and folding it like I'd never stopped.

I noticed no one has pointed to Wayward Wanderings and the stickers.

I noticed no one has pointed to Wayward Wanderings and the stickers. Started another thread where I intend to share my notes and thoughts (with spoilers) and I want to give folks a bit of time to smack me down before I do it. But when I do, I'll share my thoughts on Uncle Gully.

I've created threads for all of the marked puzzles in the issue. Many of them are solved, but unfortunately, time does not permit me to craft hints for them at this time.
I'll continue to update them in the near future. In the mean time, please feel free to focus specific questions or hints to appropriate threads and, by all means, help your fellow members. But in keeping with the spirit of the game, please use spoiler tags, and post hints and not solutions when a solution is known.
Theories should similarly be posted within spoiler tags in case they are the solution.
