I'm delighted to say my C&C Vol. 3 Issue 1 arrived in the mail today. I'm in Pittsburgh, Pa., if that helps anyone else determine when theirs might arrive. I had a few good laughs at the magazine cover, especially, but also at all the marvelous detail in the broadsheet/newspaper. But what am I going to do with this ever-growing collection of stickers from all the MPC stuff I get? I must say, these newspapers improve over time. Bigger and better than ever, and I can't wait to dig in. I might have to ditch a little bit of my workload in favor of some C&C sleuthing this weekend.

I'm right above Philly, that might be a jackpot for me!

Had a giddy moment when the postman came into the office to sort a few things and my package was there. I immediately opened it to read a few of the articles and got to work on the word search. I haven't determined if there is a cipher required there yet or not, or if there is a further hidden puzzle in it, but it was great to see. I was also happy to begin the scramble as well. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow!!

Mine arrived this morning . Very intrigued by the artefacts and mildly amused too. The one that stands out for me is the Envelope , as it has a different company adress to the recognised

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention the envelope! I thought it was just for donations! I didn't even think to double-check the address! P.S. Must we use spoilers in this thread, or can we assume that we're discussing the materials because we've actually received them? Unsure of protocol...

Austruck I really like your idea of donations . It tickles me . I am not sure of the protocol either , hence why I spoiler tagged my post . I think personally it's best to keep spoiler tags for the time being as not everybody is likely to recieve their deliveries as quick as us . And the surprise of what the package contains is part of the fun , is it not

An interesting thought Austruck. Having already perused the paper I had thought perhaps the envelope was to write the editor...

I just got mine today! (Texas) So excited, though I usually read through all the articles before working on the puzzles. My thoughts on the envelope: as well as writing to the editor, Check out the "Personal Notes", most of them say "Reply here". I wonder if there is a reply they are looking for....

As a point of clarification, here at the Unofficial Forum (UFo), we embrace spoilers and prefer they be used with gusto. For spoiler-free discussion the chat room is available, but we're avoiding the discussion outright there for a few days until it's reasonable to assume most have their mysterious packages. As always, please feel free to use whatever communication medium you feel works best for you regardless of its location.

I'm also in Texas and I just received my issue today! I didn't know what to expect, but I'm very pleased with it so far! I only got to read through the first article on the front page and the word search though. I have to say, as a newbie I had no idea where to start looking for clues. What can and can't be a clue?

Anyone else notice the discrepancy between dates on Annie Edson Taylor's Niagara stunt? On the poster it says Oct. 24th. But the front page article is dated Oct 21st So I looked it up and multiple sources on the internet have conflicting answers. Some say the 21st some say the 24.

I noticed that the Word Search, the Crossword italized words and the Spot the Difference all have the same theme.

I will say that this issue is dissimilar enough from those that came before that I cannot rule anything out.
For the most part I've made good progress on the puzzles. But I'm still debating how to handle discussion when I know many members haven't even received their issue. Indeed even starting threads for some of the puzzle would involve titles that could be construed as spoilers. Which wouldn't be such a big deal if it didn't show the last post on the index page.
Soon this will cease to be a concern. I've made good progress with many puzzles and help is on the way. I look forward to brainstorming some of the others, too

Someone had written in the Curios and Catch Up that this was a spoiler-free area and so I'll keep my posts the same for now.
