We’ve done the first two Post Mortem experiences and liked them very much. We were, however, very disappointed with the Hunt for the Forgotten Tomb - there didn’t seem to be much to solve or as clear of an ending plus, being in one mailing, we found the answer right up front and then spent the rest of the time sorting through the crate trying to figure out if there was something more. For those of you who’ve done this one, how’d it compare to Post mortem in terms of a linear story with puzzles to solve and a clear ending? Cricket, this Experience is both not Post Mortem and hasn't been released yet. The final Post Mortem case, which I'm getting next week, is here: mysteriouspackage.com/collections/catalogue/products/post-mortem-la-lucha-muerteI'm going to move this and all other posts related to Post Mortem to the thread about La Lucha Muerte later today so we can stay on topic. We are also getting the last Post Mortem and I know this one is not part of that series. I was just looking to also order something else in addition to Post Mortem, but wanted something with a similar linear story, clear ending, puzzles to solve, and a good narrative. I want to avoid another Hunt for the Forgotten Tomb because that was disappointing.

I want to avoid another Hunt for the Forgotten Tomb because that was disappointing. Ah ok, sorry about that. Blame my post-Thanksgiving foggy brain! For what it's worth, I'm also not a big fan of Forgotten Tomb, especially its puzzle. Originally, Forgotten Tomb was multiple mailings, which would have made finding the answer impossible right away. This particular Experience hasn't been delivered yet, but Post Mortem is unlike other Mysterious Package Company products in that there's a clear solution/wrap-up as part of it. All of their other Experiences, and almost certainly including this one, are designed to be more immersive and as if you were getting a mysterious set of items in the mail and were experiencing a non-linear story being told by those items. The closest that I can think of to Post Mortem, and these really aren't that close to Post Mortem at all, are the two pure horror Experiences, The Weeping Book and The Buried Puppet, both of which have puzzles in them and whose main focus are included journals that are written like short stories. They both have a linear and clear story and the puzzles both add something to the story. I like both of them very much, though I was very impressed by Buried Puppet's puzzles and writing in general. If you like the format of Post Mortem, it was inspired by Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, which is very fun though it doesn't have props.

Thanks, I’m going to order The Buried Puppet and see how we like that one. I wanted to take advantage of the free shipping today 😉.
Once The Disappearance of Cadet Turner arrives for those of you who’ve ordered it, I’ll be curious to hear what you all think. I didn’t initially realize that it hadn’t shipped for anyone yet.

I’ve decided to get in on this as well. I wasn’t sure I would ever buy anything from MPC again, but I was always a space cadet. 🤖

Ugh, my package was delayed by a day (to being delivered tomorrow) but it also looks like it's in classic transit limbo; apparently it's still in Canada according to FedEx. We'll see if my trick of setting up email notifications gets it moving along.
Update: Something extremely strange is going on with this package. I got a notification saying that now the package is delayed to be delivered until next Tuesday and that it's still in Ontario. Not great. It also says that the "normal" delivery time would have had it delivered tomorrow. However, it also says that today a "delivery attempt" was made to my home in Los Angeles...an hour from now local time. Yup, you read that right, it says they made a delivery attempt in the future. It also says that I can pick it up at a local FedEx facility as early as today. This is confusing and contradictory information to say the least.

I received a similar message yesterday. Today when I checked FedEx it says the package will not arrive until December 24th.

I sent the MPC an email about it. In general, their shipping has been significantly upgraded and consistent this year; Hastur arrived especially quickly and at the same time for everyone. This is pretty clearly a big glitch on FedEx's part, and hopefully we can get it resolved. I'll post any updates that I get from the MPC.

I had a similar tracking "issue" with FedEx. I was supposed to receive it by 8:00pm yesterday (Tuesday, December 17. Another look on Tuesday said there was no estimated date. It arrived today (Wednesday, December 18). I'm in Ontario.
Honestly, I'm not sure why it needed to be sent FexEd. It was just a mailer envelope. I'd forgotten that this experience is two mailings. So far, it looks fun and cute, and hits me in two places that I adore: the 80s and comic books. I just spent the past hour doing a little exploring.
I wonder when the second mailing is expected?

Yeah the first mailing was fun but also quite content light; went through everything in maybe 30 minutes. It’s also notable that the app, while unlockable with the badge, has almost no content right now; we’ll need the second mailing to be able to do anything substantial with it.

I missed that. I assumed details were coming in the next mailing.
