Having unboxed this, it's pretty much exactly as advertised. I'm going to try to go through it in detail tonight; for what you get, the $99 price point seems a little high just at first glance (though the Artifact is for sure unsettling and well done). However, the puzzling may or may not add a lot of value to this. Not that this is a big surprise or anything, but there's an online component that's required for the puzzles.

The artifact is ok. I expected slightly more creepiness; but, it’s well made.
There seems to be a good amount of content in the actual book. I didn’t immediately see any puzzle elements upon my first thumb through.

Doing a skim of one of the online components, there’s a well known cipher that’s highlighted in one section.
I find the Artifact to be more creepy than scary, so that’s not as impressive at first glance as if it was like say Chucky, but I have a feeling it will end up being pretty unsettling after going through the story.

Exactly. I’m holding final judgement on the artifact until I finish the experience. Nice little detail on the bottom of the lid too.

Ok so I’ve completed the Experience (by far the easiest puzzle I’ve ever seen from them) and I’m actually quite impressed. The writing and overall narrative was excellent, and what the puzzles lead to is quite well done. If you have a friend who’s into horror and wants an intro to puzzle experiences that has a solid payoff, this is still relatively expensive for what it is but it could be worth it for the right person. Thumbs up from me!

You know what I realized. They didn’t include the library card in mine as is listed in the contents. I’m guessing this is why I don’t know what the online content is?

Wow, that's a pretty major oversight. I don't remember exactly where my library card was, but I feel like it was just loose inside of the box. I'd definitely contact them about it, but for now, feel free to PM me for details. Also, did you get the weird crumpled magazine pages that weren't listed as part of the content?

Yah. Already sent an e-mail. I’ll PM so that I can at least get the info on where to go. I triple checked the box. Definitely wasn’t in there.
Rue Morgue is an actual horror magazine. At least, that’s the magazine they used to pack my crate. I doubt it has any puzzle elements. Just a way to add some realism.

I agree with dmikester! This experience ended up being easy to solve but the story was absolutely rewarding and well done. I’m already thinking of a fun way to display this artifact. I’m totally satisfied with the preorder cost with the free shipping and free challenge coin. Can’t wait for more people to experience theirs so we can talk about it!

I would argue that from a sheer puzzle solving effort/reward for solving that puzzle ratio, this is probably the best the MPC has done (outside of maybe Filigree with the cipher). My feeling is always that if there's going to be a puzzle in one of these that it should lead to a tangible reward that would not be accessible otherwise and that adds something substantial to the experience. Something like Forgotten Tomb wasn't satisfying for me because the reward was minimal compared to the effort and the extra content for solving the puzzle didn't add much if anything to the narrative (that was especially true for John Augur).
Here, while the puzzle to solve is simple, it accomplishes quite a bit: it is error-free (not a trivial thing), makes sense narratively, enhances the items in the box, and leads to excellent extra content that really expands the narrative. As I've reflected on Buried Puppet, it's actually one of the best puzzle experiences I've done in terms of tight design and great payoff. I'm starting to design and write my own puzzle experience at the moment, and Buried Puppet is something I'm going to take a lot of notes on and inspiration from.

My feeling is always that if there's going to be a puzzle in one of these that it should lead to a tangible reward that would not be accessible otherwise and that adds something substantial to the experience. Something like Forgotten Tomb and Rise of the Cult weren't satisfying for me because in both cases, the reward was minimal compared to the effort (especially in Forgotten Tomb's case) and the extra content for solving the puzzle didn't add much if anything to the narrative (that was especially true for John Augur). I feel like the best way to sum this entire experience up is , simple but effective!
