Thank you thegenii ! Ordered it. That really looks great, and I don't own a copy of King in Yellow, so that should be a nice addition to my bookshelf. I, too, ordered it lol. Thanks, thegenii!

My copy came in today as well, and I'm pleased. The only copy I had prior to this was a digital copy. This will be much more fun to inflict upon friends. Now to break out my star chart again.

Please, someone, explain the symbols to me. They did look familiar and then it hit me: They look to be the same symbols used in the cipher of Rise of the Cult. Maybe it's time to dig out your gear and star map Makes sense. There are pairs, and where else would you expect to put messages from Carcosa?

That would make sense as a source.

Hmm, definitely considering ordering the book now. Though I might need to ask for an assist on the cypher (didn't purchase the corresponding experience).

I ended up ordering the book and it's pretty cool. My disappointment is with the post office. Something in the process tore through the bubble mailer AND the paper around the book inconveniently right where the Kings head is. So it got scratched up. If the book weren't already supposed to be distressed I'd be more grumpy.

If the book weren't already supposed to be distressed I'd be more grumpy. I've been absent from here for a little bit, but I got the book late last week, which would be great...except that I ordered it on December 10th. I know that it was the holidays and everything, but come on. Even after it took them a week to ship it, their new shipping method was just out of control bad; it didn't even move to a different state until the very end of the year. If I had ordered it for someone for the holidays (which would not be unreasonable for an order placed on December 10th), my recipient would have been out of luck. So I'm annoyed with the post office for a different reason. All that said, the book itself is pretty cool; I especially like the cover. Much smaller than I was expecting though.

Pocket paperback. Most common size of paperback until trade paperbacks came along. They were most commonly called "Pocket books."

They are produced using print-on-demand, and so are many times more expensive to produce. Also, there are two colors of ink, raising the price even more. And the MPC has to pay someone to stomp on and mangle them!
