Yes, that was extremely disappointing. I agree with this assessment. I would have been much happier with a paper craft magic lantern (doable I think). Just the thought of sharp scissors, glue and paper out on the table, where all four beasts will instantly demand the opportunity to inspect everything. I can see them sniffing the glue, getting it stuck up their nostrils, and then getting high off of it and starting the cat fight to put to shame all other cat fights in the entire history of cats. No thank you. All paper crafts sent to this house are stored for the "future", which we all know, never comes.

I'm missing the underlying story as well as the more complicated puzzles. Everything's so thin and superficial now The upgraded book boxes are interesting - but there's little in them worth keeping.

Please add my name to the list as well. I desperately miss the curios being relevant to the puzzles. In its current state, I could do without the curios, but likely wouldn't subscribe to a paper only version with the current level of depth, as I could just buy a local paper and get the same satisfaction.

I will also jump on this thread and add my name to the list. I want the mystery and the magic with volume's 1-2 that have been sorely lacking for a while now. I think Todd's suggestions are excellent and I truly hope MPC reads and listens to these forums.

I just happened to notice this, but the official page for Curios and Conundrums almost entirely omits the fact that there are puzzles inside at all. The word "puzzle" only appears once, and tucked deep inside a paragraph about something else. From a marketing point of view, MPC is 100% pushing the Curios aspect of this product. I doubt someone interested in puzzles who landed on this page would even know that it contained puzzles. www.mysteriouspackage.com/products/curios-and-conundrums

Although I am a relatively new member, I liked V1 and adored V3. (Yet to finish V2). Opening the Vault for V3 was an amazing experience. #83. I even recorded it on my phone.
V4 is severely underwhelming.
Please add my name to this "letter." If V5 doesn't change, adios.

My name as well. And I love the idea of a no-heavy-curio-of-boringness edition. Like others here, I really liked some of the ones from earlier editions - especially the stickers and such. But what am I really supposed to do with a heavy, not-particularly-attractive lump of pewter? The time piece one especially is underwhelming. I'm uninterested in the papercraft as well - I made the goat but it's not what I came for. Puzzles or bust.

This would make a great T-shirt slogan.

I join in Todd's opinion. Also I don't like the papercrafts at all, I did like the ezarlier curios from V3 though. And having 1 to do is ok. It can't be something you like every time but now it is just too much. I did buy volume 1 and 2 without the curios shortly after I started on vol 3. and now because they pull me more then this year's run, I am working on those. I would love to see a reply from MPC stating what they learned and which direction they are deciding to go. ...and where are the membershipkits suddenly gone to?

I get they're trying to create a miniature version of the artifacts in the "big" experiences. And I appreciate that. I just wish they each were more unique. The first two, especially, were nearly identical. And yes, something other than pewter would be nice too.

I couldn't agree more with these points.
They turned something special for a niche market into a "mass appeal" product but they may have lost more people in the process.
I said I would give Season 4 a chance but I have been so disappointed I will be cancelling unless there are drastic changes.
Please add my signature.

I expressed my concerns to MPC about C&C and this is the response I received: Dearest Justin, I, too, am disappointed upon receipt of your complaints. Do rest somewhat easier knowing I have passed these complaints over to our wordsmiths and designers in the hopes that we can find a new direction in future volumes. You are not the only one to voice these very worries, but do be aware that come the new year we do have new plans as well. I hope you are willing to give us another chance beyond this year's changes as we too are a growing company, and ideally come the next few months we can excite you with mysteries and puzzles of old challenge once more. One more issue remains in Vol. IV, and then... well, that's for the future us to see. Please let me know if I can do anything to assist you in this or other matters, I am here to help however possible. I will add my name to this as well. I am actually holding off on recommending this to at least three individuals right now because the issue-spanning anticipation has fallen short and sort of took the fun out, and I agree with not even bothering with curios if they don't matter anyway. They are what got me hooked.
That said, are there only four issues this year? If I am going to make a recommendation, I will tell people to wait until the next volume comes out.

Alas, this thread is now a moot point, as they have decided to cancel Curios and Conundrums after the next (and now last) issue. They're apparently developing something new, so perhaps continuing to provide suggestions for what we would like to see from the new product would be good, but it will likely be markedly different from C&C.
