Yes, they're missing quite a bit there.

I saw it go up late last night; I'm sure it'll be updated throughout the weekend to get up to speed. They also tend to have a policy that I appreciate which is to not post direct solutions to puzzles unless they help lead people to another part of the game. For example, they'll likely eventually post the phone number that seems to be what the videos are leading to but not necessarily how to get to that point.

We're fairly certain it's not a phone number since as far as we can tell, the area code is invalid. A call to 555-1212 in that area code results in a "Cannot be completed as dialed" message. Surely if the area code were valid, it would have directory assistance.

So far this looks like the best possible replacement for C&C...I think it even has the potential to outshine the old C&C if it lives up to its advertising. The key is going to be how often they release new product and the price.

The key is going to be how often they release new product and the price. Price is going to be a huge factor for me. Part of C&C's allure for me was its reasonable cost (compared to other puzzle-by-mail things like it). That being said, I am awfully excited and would love to see where they take it, even if I have to experience it vicariously though one of you.

For those who haven't been on the Simulacra chat, I thought I would share. I have been struggling with the videos, especially since I'm not good at slowing them down and grabbing screen shots etc., so felt that maybe these puzzles were too hard for me. A few others on the chat expressed the same feeling. Someone from Simulacra came on the chat and shared some information that has me really looking forward to the Kickstarter.
The puzzles posted in the videos are much harder than those in the game. They expect the box to be solved by one or several individuals, while they knew the videos will be solved by a much larger audience working collaboratively.
There will be 3 levels of the same game available at different tiers. Bronze, silver, gold. the Kickstarter will be live probably in a couple of weeks. The smaller package will contain everything to take you through the narrative of diary within the box and you piece together the story. The larger packages contain extra, sort of side-quests that fill in more details and have more puzzles and the largest package is the complete experience, including more extravagant puzzles and objects, like the viewfinder and the haunted house playset.

Tha sounds absolutly great! To get to the length and create different difficulty-layers, that would be a solution to C&C, if they were interested in keeping all the audience. By the way, where can I get onto the Simulacra chat? Is it this link from Todd? "The Discord server is the place: discord.gg/WF99SF" But it did not work for me. ( I never really heard from Discord before. Did I mention: I'm not good at this stuff ) Or is it on the IRC?

I updated the discord link above. I think I have it set to Never Expire this time.

As a (maybe unwanted) heads-up, it's almost impossible to use the YouTube player to slow down/analyze videos. It would probably help you to rip the video off of YouTube and analyze it in a video editor. More control that way (plus, you can slow down footage and go through it frame by frame, depending on what program you use). I don't know if you'll find that useful, but I thought I'd drop it here. If not for you, than maybe for someone else. Did they mention anything about cost? The only problem I see with that 3 level system is that it seems to softlock people with smaller budgets into purchasing an "easier" level. Or, by "levels", they simply mean content tiers? I'm definitely curious to see where they go with it; it seems like they have some neat ideas, really listen to their fan/customer base, and are taking plenty of things in mind when designing their product. All of which are pros in my book!

All of which are pros in my book! The tiers were in response to a question about costs..which is tied into the amount of content. Also, from what I understand, their plans are to release one box a year (though maybe that will change). They have Wilson Wolfe about ready to go and two others in development.
