We're getting 5 mailings total -- 4 packages and a final envelope with additional documents. According to the website description, the January people are getting the same thing, 4 packages and a final envelope with startling information (though I'm not sure what could be more startling than Box #4). So, nothing has changed in the experience, near as I can tell. I'm pretty sure something HAS changed. When I signed up, it said there would be five packages. The spoiler page also mentioned a theme of "a fire". Now, the spoiler page simply says Envelope, or something along those lines...

But the updates may be for the Jan experience, and she has decided to consolidate the boxes. Or maybe we thought "mailings" meant boxes.... guess we will see soon enough. Ok, back to figuring out whodunnit. They don't seem to have a butler, so that is obviously not a fall back solution

This is the text of the fifth mailing, which she does refer to as a package. I don't recall it changing materially (though I think there has been some editing) and it still references fire:
"A Curious Letter. Package the fifth. At this point in the investigation, your keen eyes may have noticed that some of the artifacts bear the unmistakable trace of conflagration. Eager to assure you that this is not through our own neglect and unable to bear the burden of secrecy any longer, it’s time to lift the veil. A missing archival document reveals the dollhouse’s final secret: a message spoken from beyond the grave. The murder weapon is delivered, but not before The Haunted Dollhouse claims its final victim."
If there's no artifact that's chunky, then there's no reason for the package to be a box, it's more reasonable to send as a flat. I'd guess the final package would be the final pieces of the dollhouse, the last archival document(s), and a last letter from Lady Delaney -- there's not a good reason to put a mailing that is nothing but flat things in a box. I don't think that's unreasonable?
PS, this is boiling down to semantics -- package, box, mailing, letter etc., people inferred what they inferred from the description. I'm not sure it matters to the experience whether this last mailing, which she calls a parcel and probably is not a box, is a flat. ("A Curious Letter" is the title of Parcel #5, same way "Untimely Death" was the name of Parcel #4. I sincerely doubt that a single letter is all we're going to get in this last mailing.)

In the pre-start mailing, she outlined general instructions, contact email, and said that participants would be directed to an online dossier that would answer remaining questions.

Boxes are a good way to generally ensure that mailed items don't get bent or broken. Though they can get stomped on or run over. I once had a box arrive that had literally been flattened and had a tire track across it. So, no guarantees either way.

I just thought I'd also mention that in the picture of the murder weapon -- those aren't embroidery scissors. The smallest they could be are linen shears. It's either an important discrepancy or a mistake.

Any guesses on when our final package will be sent out?

It's just a wee bit late, isn't it? Wasn't the entire experience supposed to occur in October?

She's about a week late, including a hurricane in October that affected Louisiana and USPS operations. I'm pretty sure that far far far outperforms MPC being months late for no apparent reason.

I'm ok with not getting it right away. Still haven't finished putting together the rest of my furniture. After my last package I will glue the walls to the wood to fully complete the dollhouse!

I thought I'd pass along two quotes from Lady Delaney's Facebook page:
"L. Delaney: Fifth box is set to disembark shortly! I won't keep you in suspense for too much longer : ) "
and
"L. Delaney: January will be a slightly modified version of October---with a completely new adventure also coming in January! "
Wheeeee!

has everyone gotten their final shipment? still waiting here.... Nothing here. No mention of it even being shipped yet. She last said on Facebook that it would ship soon though... That's ok, I still have more furniture to put together!
